Caddi Launches an AI Agent That Builds and Governs a Firm’s Back-Office Agents

PR Newswire

The agent discovers a firm’s repetitive work, is trained on each process like a new hire, and governs every agent it builds under full audit.

SEATTLE, Aug. 24, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Caddi today launched an AI agent that builds and governs a firm’s AI agents, aimed at the industries with the largest back offices: wealth management firms, law firms and insurance companies.

The work looks simple. It is not.

Back-office work was never left manual because it was boring. It was left manual because it is hard to specify. Filing an executed contract sounds like one step; in practice it is a decision tree. Did both parties sign? Is this the executed copy or another draft? The real process is the happy path plus forty exceptions, most living only in the head of whoever has done the job longest. Past attempts wrote a specification, built against it, and discovered the exceptions in production one incident at a time.

“Everyone calls back-office work low-value busywork, and that framing is why it never got fixed,” said Alejandro Castellano, co-founder and CEO of Caddi. “It is a process with fifty branches that one person carries in their head, and every tool that underestimated it broke in week three.”

It starts with the work firms cannot see

Few operations leaders can say which processes run across their firm, how often, or at what cost. Caddi’s agent reads the systems a firm already runs and surfaces the processes that repeat, ranked by frequency and cost. The first decision is which process to automate, made against observed activity rather than a hunch.

Trained like a new hire

In Loop Studio, Caddi’s design canvas, the person who does the job shares their screen and demonstrates the work. The agent is not just recording: it suggests improvements, and whenever it hits ambiguity it stops and asks while the expert is in the room. Each answer becomes a rule inside the agent, extracting in twenty minutes the exception handling a traditional project discovers over six months of incidents.

Deterministic, and no black box

Caddi’s agents call AI only where the work requires judgment and run deterministic code everywhere else. When a model decides every step, 95 percent accuracy compounds to roughly three quarters across six steps, and these processes run far longer. A Caddi agent takes the same path every time, at flat cost. Every run is a replayable record, leadership sees every agent in one place, and Caddi is SOC 2 Type II compliant with connections to more than 100 business applications.

In production today

Customers include a Barron’s Top 10 registered investment advisor absorbing growth from 1,500 advisors toward 5,000 without expanding its transitions team; The Planning Center, an independent RIA running Caddi across seven workflows for over a year; Palace Law, which absorbed a near tripling of daily inbound mail without adding a person; and an Am Law 100 firm automating 150 conflict checks a day.

“Every process still pointed back to a human,” said Matt Mercer, chief operating officer of The Planning Center. “Caddi got the systems we already have to talk to each other, and gave my team back an hour a day.”
