Dallas-based heavy civil contractor earns national recognition for growth, ranking among the country’s fastest-growing construction companies
DALLAS, TEXAS, UNITED STATES, August 27, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — INDUS Road & Bridge has been named to the 2026 Inc. 5000, earning national recognition as one of America’s fastest-growing private companies and marking its first appearance on the prestigious annual list. The Dallas-based heavy civil contractor ranked No. 76 among construction companies nationwide, No. 56 in Dallas-Fort Worth-Arlington, No. 153 in Texas and No. 1,396 overall. The recognition reflects the company’s evolution from a specialty subcontractor into a growing heavy civil contractor working on major transportation infrastructure projects across Texas and beyond.
For INDUS, that growth trajectory began in Dallas in 2013, when co-founders Amjad Jaber and Berry Assefa launched the company as a bridge subcontractor for the LBJ Express. The principles that have guided the company’s growth — integrity, discipline, consistency and maintaining high standards under pressure — are also at the center of Jaber’s 2026 leadership book, No Shortcuts: What It Really Takes.
“There really are no shortcuts to sustainable growth,” said Amjad Jaber, co-founder and CEO of INDUS Road & Bridge and author of No Shortcuts: What It Really Takes. “You build it by holding yourself to a standard, doing what you say you are going to do, taking care of your people and delivering for your clients. We started INDUS with an opportunity to prove ourselves on one bridge footing. Today, our team is trusted with increasingly complex infrastructure projects. This recognition belongs to the people who have upheld that standard project by project, year after year.”
From its beginnings in North Dallas, INDUS steadily expanded its capabilities, geographic reach and role within the heavy civil construction industry. The company built its early reputation working alongside major general contractors on complex Design & Build projects with demanding schedules, tight milestones and aggressive budgets. Its portfolio has included the I-35E Express Lanes in Dallas-Forth Worth, SH 288 Toll Lanes in the Houston area, I-66 Outside the Beltway in Virginia and I-77 Express Lanes in North Carolina, becoming one of the most reliable partners for PPP projects delivery. In 2022, INDUS entered its next stage of growth, taking on projects as a general contractor for the Texas Department of Transportation while continuing its work as a subcontractor on major Design & Build projects. The company continues to perform TxDOT road and bridge work in 2026.
“The significance of this growth is the capability behind it,” said Mark Smith, president of INDUS Road & Bridge. “Heavy civil construction demands disciplined project management, strong coordination and the ability to execute under aggressive schedules. Our growth reflects a team that can perform at that level while maintaining the quality, safety and accountability our clients expect. We are continuing to build the organization and develop the people who will carry that standard into the next generation of projects.”
Today, INDUS works across North, Central and South Texas and in other states, serving transportation agencies and major contractors on road, bridge and related infrastructure projects. Current and recent projects include I-35 NEX in San Antonio, interchange at I20 in Longview, and projects along the I35 and US75 corridors in Dallas-Forth Worth.
The 2026 Inc. 5000 ranks privately held U.S. companies based on percentage revenue growth from 2022 through 2025. Collectively, this year’s honorees generated more than $385 billion in 2025 revenue, created 627,208 jobs over the past three years and produced more than $200 billion in revenue growth since 2022. The median three-year revenue growth rate for companies on the full list was 130%.
